Kingdoms of Camelot - The Fifth City

Big changes happened in Kingdoms of Camelot in early September, 2010. The game developers, Kabam, have seen tremendous success with this real time strategy game. As of September, over six million players are actively playing this free online game.

If you haven't played the game yet, it is completely free and can be accessed through your Facebook Account.

A series of tutorials, called "quests" will walk you through the game play and teach you how to manage your city's growth, keep its citizens happy, leverage the power of the wilderness and use Knights to accelerate your growth. You will build up your city and its army, conquer the barbarian camps and join an alliance with up to one hundred other players.

As you progress in the game, you will be given the opportunity to build your second, third and fourth cities. As of early September, players are able to build a fifth city.

Prerequisities

There are several items that you must find before you are able to build the fifth city.

You will need to find:

4 Sir Percival Crests

3 Sir Galahad's Crests

2 Sir Lancelot's Crests

This is not an easy task. You can only find these crests by conquering wildernesses level eight through ten. While the drop rate was increased slightly, it is still very, very low. There are several different crests that may drop, and some are much more difficult to come by than others.

To find these nine crests, you should expect to conquer more than one hundred wildernesses.

***Don't forget that ONLY levels 8, 9, and 10 wildernesses will drop these***

Look at the picture below to see where you will look on the battle report to see if you successfully looted a crest.  In this case, the Sir Lancelot Crest was received!

When you Looted the Last Crest

When you loot the last crest, the Quest bar will light up and prompt you to click on it.  This signifies that you are ready to move on to the next step!

Open up the Quest tab and you will see that there will be a green arrow next to the quest "Earn your Fifth City Deed."

Arthur wants to give you the fifth city deed and as a special bonus, will give you the Divine Inspiration as well.

In exchange, he will take the nine required crests.

Click on "Get Reward" to go to the next step.

Fifth City Deed

Finally!  You have done it!  After all those wildernesses and lost troops, you finally have received the fifth city deed.

In celebration, you can collect a bonus chest and share 20,000 free resources with your friends.

Build Your Fifth City

Now it is finally time to build the fifth city.  There have been changes over previous city builds in that you are no longer required to send troops and resources to a plain in order to build the city.  That was an inconvenient step that most people forgot about anyway.

To build your city, you must first conquer a plain.  It does not matter what level plain you conquer.  There is no bonus to attacking a level nine plain over a level one plain.  For the purposes of building a city, a plain is a plain is a plain.

Before you choose your location, make sure that you have a wilderness slot available.  This is a frustrating step, but your troops will automatically return to your other city unless you do it.  Click on your castle and then the Wilderness tab.  You hopefully have maximized the number of wildernesses that you can control (hint: a Level 8 castle can control 8 wildernesses, a level 4 castle can control 4 wildernesses).

If you are at the maximum, you MUST abandon one.  Write down the coordinates so you can quickly reconquer, but go ahead and abandon one of your wildernesses.

Now, you can send your troops to the plain of your choice.

Troops are Encamped

At this point, your troops should have encamped on their plain where you sent them.

Click on the plain and bring up your troops' option menu.  One of the options is to "Build the City".

Choose that option and a menu similar to the one on the right will pop up.

Click Build when you are satisfied that everything is accurate.

Don't Forget!

Remember that you abandoned a wilderness a couple of steps before?  Now that the city is built, your wilderness slot will open back up.

Reconquer that wilderness!  If you built the city fairly quickly, the wilderness should not have regenerated all of their defenses and you should be able to retake it quite easily.

I've gotten Lancelots and Percivals from level 7 wilds. In fact I have received all of the needed Lance and Percs from level 7 wilds. It's a lower drop rate than level 8 wilds though. I just can't find a Galahad for the life of me, even with me hitting level 8s.
